A Troubling Day

Sadly enough, my 2001 Ford Focus (which was handed down to me through my sister-in-law) got broken into either this morning or last night. Pretty sad... Such a simple car with beautiful elegance and nothing in sight to steal (and nothing hidden to steal). So in many ways, praise God for the robber not being able to take anything. The robber even left our cute Christian mug :)! And they left Joey's Cedarville umbrella. Hah.

Oh well! Just glad for safety. But let's just say this was a bad day all together (not just that), but many more things...there is always tomorrow!

Dates are good

I've decided dates are good. Do not discount the value of a date. Joey and I have been going on more "dates". Dates to me are not going out to eat, for me that's a way of life. However, I choose to define them as "doing something". So we decided last week for the first in over a year to go on a date driving 1/3 of the 49 mile drive. This was super peaceful in relaxing, except for the first part whereby we were a bit tense trying to figure out our way around using a map with no street names, except for a few major ones. However, it was all worth it in the end. Seeing some really beautiful sites in SF on a nice chilly night - priceless. And to end it with some pizza and beer can't be bad too, eh? (Too bad I don't like beer. I'll take the food though) Then last night we went on another date - I think this will have to be a regular thing. We took from my brother the 50 City Walks of SF, and we did one of the ones in the Chestnut Shopping Area...we went past the times shops were open, but had a good time strolling down and seeing the active lives - interesting to see people in bars, people grabbing tuttimelon, etc. Altogether another good night to wash away the absolutely HORRIBLE dinner we had. :)

That time

I never remembered to blog about the time I made beef noodle soup when I first moved to SF. Here's a picture for enjoyment purposes.

Food

You can't get past me in regards to food. Yes. I do read all the food blogs in SF, I do read yelp, I do read tablehopper, chowhound etc. I don't know why people keep asking, have you heard of...? PUH-lease as my little niece would say! (well really her dad in a baby voice...) Sigh. I'm so sad that I haven't had a chance to hang out with a lot of my SF friends. I'm so sorry. Too busy just getting adjusted and hanging out with my family. I love family. I'm so glad I have good family in SF, and I hope to grow in those relationships. Joey's cooking pot roast tonight! YAY! I'm so glad he's learning to enjoy cooking . . . I'm so blessed.

Hmmph

I wish Xanga wouldn't die ... I notice no one reads anymore, but I do like reading people's xanga updates more than I enjoy reading one-liners on Facebook.

Anyways, now that I am married, I am considered "old and boring". That's okay, I have my cute niece here to play with, so I don't care what you think. She is the highlight of my every weekend.

Also, I have been enjoying cooking as of late. I really should get Joey to upload the pictures of the food I've been making. So far, Joey & I (sometimes, just me, sometimes just him, and sometimes together!) have made Zucchini bread, Banana chocolate chip bread, MapoTofu (of course - my specialty!), some veggies, Tuna Casserole (DELISH!), Beef noodle soup (very good, but trying to perfect it to taste less like the clear broth and more like the dark broth one at FuFu/San Tong Mian Guan).... This week's adventures will include making BBQ Garlic Ribs, Mashed Potatoes, Turkey Chili (I think i'm finally ready to make it again after being stuck with it for a long time for that party) + Cornbread, and USING MY NEW ICE CREAM MAKER - MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP ICE CREAM FROM SCRATCH using mint leaves =O & Mango Gelato for Isabella's 1st BIRTHDAY! WOOHOOO!!!!

Happy birthday Isabella. I LOVE YOU!
